| 英文描述 | Signs are due to compression of the spinal cord by disc material. More common in middle- or old-age short-legged dog breeds, which are subject to degenerative disc disease particularly in the thoracolumbar area, and in Doberman Pinschers, which commonly develop lesions in the caudal cervical area. Traumatic disc extrusion causes a similar syndrome in any breed. Clinically significant disc disease occurs rarely in the cat. Dx is based on signs (which can range from back pain to severe neurologic signs), radiology, and myelography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. |
