| 中文描述 | 皮樣囊腫可以在複層上皮造成損害，像是在正常的皮膚上充滿角質化的物質，在羅德西亞脊背犬是一種隱性基因突變的遺傳疾病，但是在其他品種也可能發生，這是胚胎時期神經管與皮膚外胚層不完全裂開所造成的，囊腫常存在頸部和薦部的背正中線，可能充滿殘餘物，變成囊腫發炎，皮樣囊腫蔓延到硬膜會引起神經症狀，可由症狀診斷之。腦膜炎是可以移除的併發症。在少數病例，皮樣囊腫可見於鼻樑的正中線上，在貓很少見。 |

| 英文描述 | Dermoid cysts are lesions that are lined with stratified epithelium resembling normal skin with adnexae and filled with keratinous material. This is a genetic defect that may be inherited as a simple recessive gene in Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, but sporadic cases have occurred in other breeds as well. It is a result of incomplete dehiscence between the neural tube and cutaneous ectoderm during embryologic development. The sinus is usually present on the dorsal midline between the neck and sacral area, and may become filled with debris, become cystic and is often inflamed. Dermoid sinuses that extend to the dura mater can cause neurologic signs. Dx by signs. Meningitis is a complication of removal. In rare cases dermoid sinus cysts have occured on the midline on the bridge of the nose in dogs. This is a very uncommon disease in cats. |
