| 英文描述 | Localized areas of calcified granulomatous masses called calcinosis cutis are common in dogs, particularly large breeds of dogs. Lesions are usually nonpainful, multilobular masses; can be fluctuent on palpation and discharge a chalklike material when incised. Occur in many sites, but areas over bony prominences are most common, leading to speculation that this lesion is secondary to trauma. Lesions are visible on radiographs due to their high mineral content. Dx by histology. There are reports of calcinosis circumscripta occurring as subcutaneous masses on the dorsum of cats, and one report of this lesion in the tongue of a cat. Pressure on the spinal cord from ligament-associated fibrocartilaginous proliferation was described in young large breed dogs. |
