| 英文描述 | Short colon is a rare condition which may be associated with chronically soft feces. The diagnosis is confirmed using contrast radiography, although colonoscopy may be useful. The colon is short; on radiography the cecum is located on the left side of the abdomen and there is no apparent demarcation of ascending, transverse, or descending colon. Clinical signs may be due in part to associated inflammation or neoplasia. There is no specific treatment, but the softness of the feces may be controlled by use of a highly digestible, low-residue diet. |
