| 中文描述 | 胸腺瘤就是腫瘤位於胸線上皮細胞.這是一種在貓跟狗身上很少見的瘤.此種病的徵兆除了腫塊之外,神經性副腫瘤症候群,如 重症肌無力,血碳酸過多症,多發性肌炎等,都會伴隨著出現.此病最常出現在中年的狗身上.診斷藉由x光照射前方縱隔膜的團塊以及活組織切片法,或是藉由開胸術的方式.脖子和頭部的水腫(腔靜脈症候群)可能會伴隨發生.腫瘤可能是良性或惡性的,但是依照現在的組織學的分類方法我們很難判斷腫瘤其生物學的活性. |

| 英文描述 | Thymoma is a tumor of the thymic epithelial cell. It is a rare neoplasm of dogs and cats. In addition to the signs seen due to the tumor mass, paraneoplastic syndromes such as myasthenia gravis, hypercalcemia, and polymyositis can accompany thymomas. Most common in middle-aged dogs. Dx by finding cranial mediastinal masses on radiography and by transthoracic needle biopsy or thoracotomy. Head and neck edema (vena cava syndrome) may occur. The tumor may be benign or malignant, but histologic grading is a poor predictor of biologic activity. |
