| 英文描述 | Incomplete fusion and development of the spinal cord occurs sporadically in dogs and may be associated with spina bifida. In the Weimaraner it occurs as a specific heritable trait. Signs usually appear at 4-6 weeks of age and are nonprogressive, but adult onset of signs has been reported (Rishniw et al.). There is often a characteristic base-wide stance, bunny hopping gait, and crouched posture with overextension of the hind limbs when standing. Dx by history, signs, and necropsy. Homozygous condition is lethal. Was seen in one litter of kittens. |
