| 英文描述 | Thallium, a heavy metal, was a commonly used rodenticide; it has not been manufactured in the United States since 1972 (Thomas et al.), but occasional toxicities are seen due to material produced before production ceased. Absorbed by skin or GI tract and metabolized very slowly. Animals surviving the acute phase may relapse to chronic toxicity 5-7 days after ingestion; this stage has massive hair loss and development of erythematous oozing skin lesions in areas of friction. Dx is by history, signs, presence of thallium in urine. |
