| 英文描述 | Unlike other coccidia TOXOPLASMA GONDII infects dogs in an extraintestinal cycle that does not result in infective oocyst production. Infection occurs by carnivorism, fecal contamination, transplacentally, or possibly by blood transfusion. Affected dogs can show neurologic signs. Frequently reported concurrently with canine distemper. Common signs relate to myositis, pneumonia, hepatitis, nervous system and ocular damage. Most common in young animals. In some cases signs may be rapidly progressive. |
