| 英文描述 | Primary glaucoma occurs without other antecedent intraocular disease. Exact etiology is unknown; a narrow or closed iris angle may predispose, but primary open-angle glaucoma was reported in beagles. There is progressive insufficiency of aqueous drainage that may be manifested as an acute or chronic problem. More prevalent in middle or old aged dogs. The disease in one eye is often followed by involvement of the opposite eye within 1 year, but in breeds at risk this can be delayed by prophylactic medical or surgical treatment. Dx by signs, tonometry, ophthalmic examination. |
