This agent may also be isolated from dogs without diarrhea, so the diagnosis rests on finding the bacteria and ruling out other causes of diarrhea. Some authors consider C. JEJUNI normal canine intestinal flora, unlikely to be a primary enteric pathogen. Microaerophilic conditions are required to isolate the organism. Reported in both young and old dogs. |
