| 英文描述 | An acute necrotizing myositis of the muscles of mastication, the masseter, temporalis, and pterygoid muscles, can occur in dogs, especially large breeds. Swelling of the muscles can cause the eyes to bulge, and there is severe pain. Fever may be present in some cases. Remission often follows steroid therapy, but recurrences can lead to chronic lesions with atrophy (chronic maxillary myositis). Unilateral in rare cases. |
