| 英文描述 | A sensory neuropathy that is probably an inherited autosomal recessive condition in some breeds has been described. It is reported in German short-haired and English pointers, a border collie, and long-haired dachshunds. Affected dogs have decreased pain perception in the feet. It is usually first seen at 2-5 months of age. In some cases dogs begin to bite their own feet. Rear legs are most severely affected. Reflexes are sometimes intact. May autoamputate toes. A similar syndrome has been reported in Dachshund puppies and a Jack Russell terrier. Dx by signs, electrophysiologic testing, and nerve biopsy. |
