| 英文描述 | A series of dogs of a variety of breeds and from 1-10 years of age developed a denervating disease. Signs developed over a 1 week to 1 month period. There was diffuse weakness, but mastication, swallowing, respiration and bladder function remained intact. Pain sensation was normal, but reflexes were impaired and muscle atrophy was prominent. Pathology showed degeneration of the distal intramuscular axons with collateral sprouting. The cause is unknown. Recovery occurred over a 1-5 month period. This resembles 'coonhound paralysis' but there are no sensory disturbances and the lesions differ histologically. |
