| 英文描述 | This is a disease of young (less than 1 year) dogs of the toy and miniature breeds. Compromised blood flow to the femoral head results in aseptic necrosis of the affected portion, and eventually the overlying viable cartilage may collapse. The etiology of vascular compromise is unknown, but a recessive inheritance is suspected in some breeds. Similar effects may be produced by trauma that results in decreased vascular flow to the femoral head. Can be unilateral or bilateral. Usually presents as an acute onset of non-weight-bearing lameness or intermittent subtle lameness. Dx is by breed, age, and radiology, which might show irregular density and flattening of the femoral head in combination with degenerative joint disease. |
