| 英文描述 | A 7-month-old dog was described that had short episodes of weakness and collapse, often following excitement or play. A prolonged increase in serum potassium following exercise was detected, and oral administration of 50-60 mEq of KCL led to episodes of weakness about 8 hours later. Treatment with 62.5 mg of acetazolamide BID appeared to prevent recurrence, and a diagnosis of paresis associated with hyperkalemia was made. A major differential diagnosis is cataplexy/narcolepsy. |
