| 英文描述 | Swedish Lapland and Brittany Spanial dogs developed progressive weakness due to an abiotrophy of the lower motor neurons in the spinal cord, inherited as an autosomal recessive. Signs in the Laplands begin at 5-7 weeks of age and are rapidly progressive. The disease in Brittanys is slowly progressive over the first year of life, and can lead to secondary contractures of the limbs. Also reported in Rottweiler pups, with onset of signs at 4 weeks of age and rather rapid progression of signs, with euthanasia performed at 8 weeks of age. The Rottweiler pups had megaesophagus. A similar progressive disease with signs starting at around 5 months of age has been seen in Japanese Pointers, and this syndrome has been reported sporadically in dogs of other breeds. Dx by history, breed and necropsy. |
