| 英文描述 | Alexander's disease is a progressive neurologic condition of man due to a fibrous degeneration of astrocytes. Irregularly shaped elongate or oval refracile, eosinophilic hyaline structures (Rosenthal fibers) arranged most densely around blood vessels, subependymal and subpial areas are characteristic. Two littermate Laborador retrievers had a progressive neurologic disease starting at 6 months of age which resembled this condition histologically, a Scottish Terrier developed a similar syndrome starting at 6 months of age, and Miniature poodle developed signs at 3 months of age. It is suspected that this may have a genetic basis. There is no cure. |
