| 英文描述 | In retinal pigment epithelial dystrophy in dogs there are light brown spots and patches of pigment within the tapetal fundus which progressively increase in number, coalesce and become associated with patchy areas of tapetal hyper-reflectivity and attenuation of the retinal vasculature. A disease of slowly progressive central vision loss (this condition was formerly known as central progressive retinal atrophy), usually beginning at 2-6 years of age, with retention of peripheral vision until old age. Might progress to blindness. Vision may be better at night or in dimmer light. Has been associated with vitamin E deficiency in cocker spaniels. |
