| 英文描述 | Dogs can develop iron toxicity, often due to ingestion of human iron supplements. The circulatory and gastrointestinal systems are the primary systems affected; there are hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, hepatic failure, acidosis, coagulation defects, cardiovascular collapse, and occasionally death. Signs can occur in 3 phases: up to 6 hours of gastrointestinal signs; 6-24 hours of apparent clinical recovery; and (in severely poisoned dogs) a third stage of severe multisystemic signs followed by gastrointestinal scarring and stricture formation. |
