| 英文描述 | The venous cavernous sinuses are paired, and lie on the floor of the middle cranial fossa. The peripheral segments of cranial nerves III, IV, VI, and the ophthalmic division of V penetrate the dura of these sinuses, and there are reports of dogs which developed weakness of the eye muscles due to tumors such as thyroid adenocarcinoma or pituitary adenoma invading the sunuses. Dx by progressive signs in association with tumors elsewhere in the body. A swelling of the neck due to the thyroid tumor may be present. The eyes remain fixed, without normal 'doll's eye' movement. |
