| 英文描述 | Insulin shock is commonly due to accidental overdosage in diabetic animals. Insulin has little therapeutic value in horses, but has been used to kill horses to allow collection of insurance. Affected animals show signs of hypoglycemic shock, have low blood glucose levels and severely elevated insulin levels on radioimmunoassay. |
