| 英文描述 | A disease of unknown cause, hair follicle dysplasia, occurs in young Siberian husky dogs. Hair coat is normal up to 3-4 months of age; after that time puppies shed guard hairs, which are not replaced, and the undercoat takes on a rusty color (Post et al.). There may be areas of alopecia. Hair may have a wooly to harsh texture, and skin may be dry. The tail is often the first and most severely affected area. This may be an inherited syndrome. Dx by history, signs, skin biopsy, and rule-out of other causes. |
