| 英文描述 | An autosomal recessive defect of Bedlington Terriers leads to accumulation of toxic excesses of copper in the liver. It is a progressive and fatal liver disease. It may be latent for many years or lead early in life to acute or chronic hepatic disease and death. Dx is based on liver function tests and biopsy. Hepatic encephalopathy may be evident in advanced cases. There are reports that this syndrome or one very similar to it also occurs in other breeds. |
