| 英文描述 | Epipora is a common complaint in miniature breeds such as the Toy and Miniature Poodle, Maltese, terriers, and Chihuahua. There is an anatomic predisposition base on a shallow tear lake, prominent eyes. Other causes include medial lower entropion, excessive tear production secondary to inflammation, local inflammation, congenital absence or obstruction of punctum or canaliculus, nasolacrimal obstruction, or hair from the caruncle acting as a wick. Dx by exam, nasolacrimal flush, or dacryocystorhinography. Epiphora and staining of the medial canthal area may be apparent as early as 2 months of age. |
