Supernumerary teeth in the dog are common, and may be in the dental arcade, where they cause crowding and rotation of teeth, or may be located in abnormal positions such as the hard palate or floor of the mouth. May cause abnormal tooth wear and decay. Abnormal development of teeth in the dog and cat has also been described. |
