| 英文描述 | Golden Retriever littermates developed hind limb ataxia at 5-7 months of age. Electromyographic and nerve-conduction studies suggested a peripheral myelin disorder, and muscle and nerve biopsies supported that diagnosis. The clinical signs stabilized, and there was no evidence of central nervous system involvement, although the dogs remained alive, precluding histologic examination of the CNS. A defect in Schwann cell function was suspected as the cause. Congenital hypomyelination was also described in a Dorset lambs that had been abnormal since birth; the cause was unknown. |
