| 英文描述 | Pancreatic acinar atrophy is characterized by idiopathic atrophy of the acinar cells, with intact Islets of Langerhans. It is more common in young large breed dogs, especially the German Shepherd. Appears to be hereditary in Collie dogs and German Shepherds. Normal pancreatic function gives way to acinar atrophy usually during the first year of life, with subsequent development of clinical signs. Polyphagia, to the extent of pica and abdominal distension in some cases, is prominent. Dx by breed, age, signs, fecal exams and tests for undigested protein, muscle fibers, fats. |
