| 英文描述 | Cavalier King Charles spaniels can develop clinical signs due to occipital bone hypoplasia that causes overcrowding of the caudal fossa, obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid pathways and secondary syringomyelia. Common in the breed, and probably inherited as a recessive trait. Signs usually develop at 6 months to 2 years of age, but can be seen in dogs of any age. Paraesthesia leading to scratching at the neck and shoulders, neck and shoulder pain, and limb weakness are common signs. Diagnosis is confirmed by MRI. |
