| 英文描述 | An acute, highly infectious disease of turkeys of all ages characterized by depression, inappetence, weight loss, subnormal body temperature, wet droppings and death. Caused by a coronavirus which localizes in intestine and bursa of Fabricius of young poults. Gross lesions are mainly in the intestinal tract. Duodenum, jejunum, and ceca are watery and gaseous. Transmitted by the ingestion of contaminated materials. Mortality in young poults may reach 50% but less than 5% in older birds. Recovered birds will remain carriers. Exists in major turkey farms of USA and Canada. Dx by history, course of disease, autopsy, and FA test on frozen intestinal-tract sections. |
