| 英文描述 | Psychogenic water consumption can result in polyuria and polydipsia. This is a common cause of PU/PD in horses, and is considered a vice. In some dogs there might be an association with gastrointestinal disease. There is hyposthenuric, electrolyte deficient urine, which returns to normal after water deprivation. Dx by ruling out other causes of polydipsia. Psychogenic polydipsia has been reported in a parrot. |
