| 英文描述 | Growing broiler fowl can develop lameness due to proximal femoral degeneration. The lameness is characterized by use of a wing for support during locomotion and hip flexion (i.e. while sitting down) (Thorp et al.). At necropsy there is gross disintegration of the epiphysis, physis, and/or metaphysis, and (sometimes) epiphysiolysis; lesions are most commonly due to bacterial chondritis and osteomyelitis, with frequent involvement of surrounding tissues (Thorp et al.). |
