| 中文描述 | 火雞六鞭毛蟲是一種鳥類的寄生蟲。這種寄生蟲生長於腸道的腸腺(crypts of Lieberkühn)中，會引發水樣下痢與卡他性腸炎。藉由從腸道中檢出寄生蟲來進行診斷。呋喃唑酮(Furazolidone)、氯四環素(chlortetracycline)、與二甲硝咪唑(dimetridazole)可以用來治療此疾病，但是紀錄治療效果的資料很有限。將成年火雞從年輕族群中隔離開來，有助於控制此疾病的傳播。 |
| 英文描述 | A parasitic disease of birds caused by HEXAMITA MELEAGRIDIS. The parasites, located in the lumina of the crypts of Lieberkuhn in the intestine, cause watery enteritis and catarrhal inflammation. Diagnosis can be made by identifying the parasites in intestinal sections. Furazolidone, chlortetracycline, and dimetridazole are among the drugs suggested for treatment, but little information on efficacy is available. Separation of adult turkeys from young helps to control the disease. |
