| 英文描述 | A syndrome of sudden drop in egg production, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly, and increased mortality, occurs in broiler breeders in Australia and the United Kingdom; this is known as Big Liver and Spleen Disease. The disease shows a predilection for sexually mature birds, and a viral cause is suspected. There is a sudden and rapid decrease in egg production lasting from 3-6 weeks then a return to near-normal production in another 3-6 weeks (Crerar and Cross). Enlarged liver and spleen are found at necropsy. Histopathology of the spleen shows a period of lymphoproliferation followed by a period of lymphoid destruction. |
