| 英文描述 | Stifle injury is common, and rupture of the cruciate ligaments occurs occasionally, with the cranial cruciate affected more commonly than the caudal. In dogs rupture is often spontaneous and associated with chronic degenerative changes within the ligament. Animals are lame, and non-weight bearing. Abnormal movement of the joint may be palpable; the diagnosis is made by radiography, arthroscopy, or MRI. Rare in birds, but treatment was described by Holz. In dogs, rupture of the contralateral cruciate ligament after an initial diagnosis of unilateral rupture is common. Meniscal calcification and ossification have been described in dogs and cats. |
