| 英文描述 | A condition characterized by local injury of the foot leading to thickening, inflammation, scab formation, and generalized infection of the underlying tissues. Although some cases heal spontaneously, untreated ones result in necrosis of vital structures, lameness, and death. Many factors predispose to this condition: puncture of the sole of the foot by the bird's own talons or by foreign objects; biotin deficiency; wet litter; poorly designed perches; and sharp projections in cages. |
