| 英文描述 | Identified by the presence of large sarcocysts in the muscles; caused by a protozoan of the genus SARCOCYSTIS. The disease has no economic impact on the poultry industry but it might have a minor public health role. Sarcosporidiasis is found throughout the world in individual birds. The disease has not yet been reported in turkeys. Lesions characterized by presence of sarcocysts along the muscle of the neck, breast, thigh, and esophagus of the infected birds. Lung consolidation and splenomegaly were observed in canaries. Diagnosis of the the disease is by lesions. No serology is used in birds. Although treatment is available in other animal species it has no practical value in birds. |
