| 英文描述 | This disease is associated with lesions of the mouth and crop, and stunted growth. CANDIDA ALBICANS is the causative agent. The organism is widespread in gallinaceous birds and reported in turkey poults, chicks, and game birds. Outbreaks are often associated with unhygienic conditions and are common in younger birds, 1-6 wks of age. Mortality may reach 75%. Lesions are commonly found in the crop, characterized by thick lining, areas of raised patches, and ulceration. These tend to flake off leaving a raw parboiled appearance which resembles turkish towelling. The crop may be empty or contain slimy mucus. Diagnosis is by lesions and confirmation by isolating the yeast. |
