| 英文描述 | An acute infectious viral disease characterized by respiratory distress and bloody tracheal exudates. Caused by an alphaherpes virus; infectious laryngotracheitis virus. Naturally infects domestic fowl of all ages and occasionally pheasants. Can be produced experimentally in turkeys and ducks. Significant lessions of Laryngotracheitis (LT) consist of hemorrhage in the trachea and larynx. LT affect mature hens and causes a severe drop in egg production. Mortality rate is high, from 10 to 70%, primarily caused by asphyxiation. In some cases of LT, conjunctivitis may occur. In chronic cases, there may be diphtheritic and cheesy necrotic patches and plugs in the larynx, trachea, and mouth. Diagnosis is by history, lesions, virus isolation from tracheal exudate, and DNA probe. |
