| 英文描述 | Choanal atresia is congenital, and is characterized by obstructing tissue between a nasal passage and the nasopharynx. Can be unilateral or bilateral, in which case air cannot pass from the nostrils to the lower respiratory tract, and there is dyspnea from birth. Dx by surgery or contrast radiography. Passage of a nasal tube is blocked in affected nostrils. There can be other associated anomalies. This has been described in the African gray parrot and a cockatoo. |
