| 英文描述 | Seen most frequently in calves and pigs, but young and adults of all species are susceptible. Affected animals remain alert, strong and responsive. Dx by clinical signs or necropsy in the rare fatal case. May be bilateral, with a cerebellar-like tremor. Organisms involved in calves include HAEMOPHILUS SOMNUS, PASTEURELLA, STREPTOCOCCUS sp., ACTINOMYCES spp., the ear mite RAILLIETIA AURIS, and MYCOPLASMA BOVIS; PASTEURELLA HAEMOLYTICA and P. MULTOCIDA are common agents in sheep; MYCOPLASMA spp. and mites are common causes in goats; in swine the agents involved include MYCOPLASMA ARIGINI, M. HYORHINIS, PASTEURELLA MULTOCIDA, ACTINOMYCES PYOGENES, STREPTOCOCCUS spp. and ACTINOBACILLUS PLEUROPNEUMONIAE. There may ocular lesions due to corneal exposure secondary to facial weakness. Petrous temporal bone fracture after chronic otitis has been seen in horses, and head shaking can be a clinical sign in horses. Dx by clinical signs, radiography, and (in horses) endoscopy of the auditory tube diverticulum. |
