| 英文描述 | The gram-positive, non-spore forming, noncapsulating, non-acid fast, filamentous anaerobe ACTINOMYCES BOVIS which lives in the oral mucosa of cattle occasionally causes a chronic osteomyelitis of the bones of the jaw. There is a report of actinomycosis in the trachea. Dx by identification of the organism. Swellings produced are bony and hard. Has also been isolated from bovine orchitis. This disease is rarely mentioned as occurring in sheep, but might occur sporadically in sheep and goats. There are also reports of this disease in horses, but it is extremely rare. The prognosis in the bony form is poor. |
