| 中文描述 | 在紐西蘭連續兩個繁殖季節，有20%的多塞特草原綿羊產下兩支後腿或四支腿都虛弱的小羊。小羊雖然趴在地上，但仍是聰明、警覺，能夠舉起牠們的頭。如果小羊有接受照顧可以慢慢的康復，不過在行走時仍是會有腿部無力的情形。在組織學上發現，有一群的肌肉萎縮，伴隨極少部分的壞死或發炎情形。懷疑這是一種遺傳的疾病。 |
| 英文描述 | Over two successive breeding seasons in New Zealand, 20% of a flock of Dorset Down sheep gave birth to lambs which were weak in both hind or all four limbs. Lambs remained down, but were bright and alert and could raise their heads. Lambs which were nursed partially recovered, but were weak in both the hind and fore limbs when walking. On histology there was group atrophy of muscle fibers with minimal necrosis or inflammation. It is suspected that this is an inherited condition. |
