| 英文描述 | A syndrome of limb weakness has been reported in late-pregnant and lactating ewes 4-6 weeks after lambing. Usually in the forelimbs, but hindlimbs occasionally affected, causing a crouching, hump-backed stance and ataxia. Not progressive, and there is usually complete recovery. The cause is unknown, but histologic examination of some cases showed polyneuropathy, while spongy changes of the nervous system were seen in others. Syndrome is sporadic and the incidence is low. Reported cases have been in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. |
