| 英文描述 | Focal symmetrical encephalomalacia is characterized by areas of necrosis in the striatum, thalami, midbrain and cerebellar peduncles. Lesions tend to be bilaterally symmetrical. Mainly affects lambs 2 weeks to 6 months old, but adult sheep and goats have been affected. Cause is unknown, but may be due to sublethal doses of toxin from CLOSTRIDIUM PERFRINGENS type D. Dx at necropsy. |
