| 英文描述 | Humpyback is a disease that affects mainly Merino wethers in western Queensland Australia. Characterized by progressive paraparesis in sheep driven for 1-2 km. Wallerian degeneration of the spinal cord is usually present, but the cause is unknown. Affected animals can die if forced to move. Some affected animals can recover after shearing (Pearse et al.). Hyperthermia prior to shearing is a suspected cause (Pearse et al.), as is poisoning the by plant SOLANUM ESURIALE. |
