| 英文描述 | Scrapie is a transmissible spongiform encephalopathy, caused by a novel agent. Signs develop after a long incubation period, and usually occur in animals 2-4 years old. There is a substantial genetic component that controls the incidence of scrapie in sheep. Occurs in all sexes and breeds, but is most common in Suffolks. Morbidity usually low but can be 10% in outbreaks. All affected animals die with a course of a few weeks to months. |
