| 英文描述 | Horses, cattle and sheep may develop cataplexy (an abrupt loss of voluntary muscular function) and/or narcolepsy (sudden onset of sleep). Sometimes called fainting disease. It is difficult to differentiate narcolepsy from cataplexy in large animals. Attacks of sleep and collapse might be precipitated by excitement. In horses, both neonatal foals and older horses have been diagnosed with this disease; there is generally gradual lowering of the head followed by buckling of the forelimbs and occasional collapse. There is a report of familial occurrence of narcolepsy in Miniature Horses. |
