| 英文描述 | A cerebellar abiotrophy has been seen in Yorkshire pigs from several farms. Pigs were normal at birth, but at 1-5 weeks of age developed progressive ataxia, that eventually made them unable to stand. There was no head tremor, but a positional nystagmus could be induced. At necropsy there was Purkinje cell degeneration. A hereditary cause is suspected. A hereditary abiotrophy in the offspring of pure-bred Saddleback sows and an unrelated Large White boar has also been studied. Body tremor was present and signs started at birth, then progressed. The disease was reproduced in experimental matings. |
