| 英文描述 | Most sows return to estrus within 3 to 14 days following weaning. Failure of sows to show estrus following weaning of the piglets can cause financial losses to swine producers. Pregnancy, crowding, malnutrition and failure to detect estrus are possible causes, but some sows appear to have a primary failure to cycle. Dx by ruling out other causes. Boars vary greatly in the ability to detect heats, and apparent anestrus in sows may be due to the inability of the boar to detect heats. Boar contact can advance the onset of estrus. |
