| 英文描述 | Cystic ovaries are the cause of 5-10% of reproductive problems in sows sent to slaughter. There can be multiple or single, large or small cysts on the ovaries. Cause is unknown. Dx is usually at slaughter, but cysts might be palpated per rectum in large sows. Nymphomania is not seen, but irregular extrus cycles and aggression are occasionally present. Diagnosis is difficult and accurate detection of estrus to assist producers in culling nonproductive sows is used to control this condition (Almond and Richards). |
